Airsoft is a combat style sport whereby participants take part in scored objectives and game modes and utilize airsoft guns that shoot plastic BBs. Game modes are often military simulation (milsim), where you participate in a mock combat with authentic military-style objectives and tactics, Live Action Role Play (LARP), or smaller/shorter game modes such as domination, capture the flag, etc. Game modes are only as limited as your imagination!
Of course! In Nova Scotia there are a few options to rent guns and equipment to get a feel for the sport before buying. Let's Go Airsoft hosts games across the province and supplies rentals, and Ground Zero Airsoft in Shelburne also has gun and equipment rentals.
First, time a game or event you want to go to by checking our calendar. When you arrive, they'll always be a pre-game briefing where the game organizers and admins go over the rules of the field, rules of the game, the game mode objectives, and any questions you may have, then they'll divide the teams! That's pretty much it! We recommend getting to the game about 60-45 minutes early so you have time to rent your equipment or get ready with your own equipment before briefing.
You don't have to, it's up to you. A lot of people prefer to go solo to games and play with new people each time, and others want to join a team and have a dedicated group of people they play with. You can find a continuously evolving list of teams in the province by going to our TEAMS page.
